Sussex's ‘Glen at Seven Stones’ to Hold Grand Opening This Week

The new condominium neighborhood, now with photos of the interior, becomes reality thanks to unique partnership with the Village of Sussex.

The new ‘’ condominium neighborhood, made possible through a unique partnership with the Village of Sussex, becomes a reality this week.

Cornerstone Development of Southeastern Wisconsin has scheduled its official Grand Opening celebration for its ranch-style condominiums between Thursday and Sunday. The condominiums are located just south of Lisbon Road at Highway164.

“This is the culmination of three years of work for which we are all very excited,” said John Wahlen, owner of Cornerstone Development, an Epcon communities Developer. “We’re expecting about 90 people to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony, and it represents their anticipation to finally get to see our new homes and the beautiful clubhouse. We’ve already sold 9 of the new condominiums ahead of the Grand Opening, so we are full of anticipation.”

"We’ve already sold 9 of the new condominiums ahead of the Grand Opening, so we are full of anticipation.”

Sitting high above Sussex with beautiful views of the surrounding area, the Glen at Seven Stones features 56 ranch-style homes along with a beautiful clubhouse. The common area has a heated outdoor pool and deck, outdoor amphitheater, fitness center, large-screen TV, fireplace, full kitchen and a community room for group events.

The Euro-Country homes are open air, ranch-style two and three bedroom units. Prices range from $270,00 to $390,000 and in size from 1,400 square feet to 1,861 square feet, not including basements. The homes also feature courtyards, patios, some with walkouts and others with lookouts are available. The neighborhood features ponds, waterfalls and is convenient to new retail shopping, the Arrowhead schools and highway I-94.

Despite a sluggish economy and the challenging housing and condominium markets, Cornerstone has already sold nine of the homes. The project received a tremendous boost from a unique partnership with the Village of Sussex.

The village board unanimously granted a special tax assessment which included fronting almost $1.5 million in road and sewer improvements for the project. The village will recoup those infrastructure costs from the developers over the next 10 years as the homes sell.

The Village of Sussex has been just great,” said Wahlen. “We are very excited about the public response to this new development and are eager for the grand opening. Ranch-style condominiums are popular because many buyers want new, single-story houses in the suburbs because they wish to stay close to where they have been living, get a home built the way they want it, with warranties, and have someone else perform yard work and other maintenance. Our condominiums have been popular because they also include a clubhouse, pool and other amenities.”

“This product has been selling in Menomonee Falls and Brookfield right through this economy,” said Sussex village administrator Jeremy Smith. “So there’s a track record of success given the conditions and real estate is location, location, location. There’s certainly a need in this community for a product that Cornerstone is developing. It’s a win-win, and we hope that it will be successful throughout this process and might be a tool that we can use in the future as necessary given the limitations in the banking industry right now.”
