Quad Lays Off 600 Arkansas Employees, Closing Plant

The Sussex-based company says it will help the employees look for new jobs by the time the factory closes later this year.

Quad/Graphics Inc. announced it will cease production at its Jonesboro, Arkansas, facility in the fourth quarter 2012, effectively laying off the factory's 600 employees.

“We continue to make the bold and necessary moves to strengthen our platform and overall competitive position, and create value for our clients and shareholders,” said Joel Quadracci, Chairman, President & CEO of Quad/Graphics.

The company says it will proactively assist Jonesboro employees in finding new jobs, including those available at other Quad/Graphics locations.
