“Parks and Rec provides the bands and people can bring their lawn chairs and blankets to Weyer Park,” Flaherty said. “The Rec department sells burgers and brats, and this year we’ll also be selling beer for the first time.”

Flaherty said she’s hoping to attract a large crowd the first night by also hosting a ribbon-cutting event for the recently approved Born Learning Trail in Weyer Park. The new children’s trail, sponsored by Power Test and United Way, will have new activities for parents to do with their toddlers.

And because the bands are always local and its an annual event, if you know of a band looking for a summertime gig, contact Amy Flaherty at (262) 993-5152.
