Sussex Brothers Earn Eagle Scout Rank on Same Night

Riley and Jacob Feldmann share how they achieved their Eagle Scout title and their plans for the future.

Brothers Riley and Jacob Feldmann celebrated obtaining Eagle Scout rank at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at in Sussex on August 18.

The brothers, who are both part of Troop 95 in Sussex, earned the prestigious rank eight months apart from each other.

For his Eagle Project, Riley created and ran the group DS4T – Divorce Support for Teens – at Hamilton High School. He realized how many teens are affected by separation and divorce and wanted to offer a place where his peers could come together on a monthly basis to discuss and work through the difficulties separation and divorce presents to teens.

Numerous Hamilton High School students participated in DS4T and now have lasting friendships thanks to the program.

Jacob desired to help young children. For his Eagle Project, he decided to run a Child I.D. Fair. With the help of members from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s office, as well as members of Troop 95, he organized and ran the fair during at Hamilton High School on March 17.

Spectrum Resources donated the printing of the I.D. cards, and more than 100 children went home with an I.D. card including their picture, finger prints and identifying information that can be used in case of an emergency.

Upon being awarded the Eagle Scout rank, the brothers have successfully earned a combined total of 60 merit badges. Each of the boys have benefitted from various leadership training programs provided by the Boys Scouts of America and have fond memories of numerous outings including High Adventure trips to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and Sea Base in Florida.

Riley will be attending the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in the fall and will be majoring in International Business and Marketing. Jacob will be in the 11th grade at Hamilton High School and plans to pursue a career in social work.
