Sussex Area Outreach Services In Need Of Donations

Director says pantry needs mac and cheese, meat, ravioli and canned beans (any kind).

The Sussex Area Outreach Services is in need of donations and an upright freezer, according to Director Jennifer Waltz, who detailed the needs of the organization to the Sussex Sun.

"Your donations will help us feed and support those in need as we head into our busiest time of year. We are low on mac and cheese, meat, ravioli and canned beans (any kind). We do accept wild game if packaged and labeled in one- to two-pound portions," Waltz said to the paper.

According to the Sun, the organization is in need of both food and monetary donations. In addition, one of the pantry's freezers is on the fritz. Waltz told the paper that if you have one to donate, they will come pick it up.

The paper also noted that the organization will be doing a Adopt-A-Family program for the holidays and holding a Chili and Chicken Soup Cook Off on Monday, Oct. 29. The cook off will be at the Armory in Sussex with tickets being $6 in advance and $7 at the door, according to the paper.

The pantry is open for donations from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. The pantry is located at N63 W23626 Silver Spring Drive. Donations can also be made by leaving them in a donation box in front of the pantry at any time.
