Photo Gallery: Living History of Every Kind

From Greek soldiers to American colonists to World War II Marines, reenactors bring history to life at local park.

More than 50 reenactors represented different historic time periods during the fourth annual Heritage Weekend Saturday at Lisbon Community Park on Bartlett Road.

The wide array of reenactors included American colonists, settlers and soldiers from the 1700s and 1800s, Civil War camps, ancient Greek Hoplites (citizen soldiers), Scottish Highlanders, World War II Marines, and Native American hoop dancers.Β

A number of trades were also represented, including a 1771 woodworker, an 1800s beekeeper, a 10th century chain mail and armor maker, and an 1846 undertaker (a builder or "general contractor" as we would call them today).
