Lisbon Fire Department Auxiliary Raises Money with Donated Grandfather Clock

The Lisbon Fire Department Auxiliary is raising funds for the Lisbon Fire Department through a donated grandfather clock showcased in North Shore Bank.

In an effort to help raise funds for the Lisbon Fire Department, a anonymous citizen in Waukesha County donated a Howard Miller Grandfather Clock Miles Model – Millennium Edition to be auctioned off by the Lisbon Fire Department Auxiliary.

The limited edition grandfather clock is currently on display at in Sussex.

Jane Braun, an auxiliary member, said the unanimous local resident wanted to share the beauty of the clock and help raise money for a good cause.

“The donor has always been in support of the auxiliary,” Braun said. “And the auxiliary supports the fire department, a perfect combination.”

To help with funding, the Lisbon Fire Department Auxiliary helps and supports the Lisbon Fire Department through fundraisers and events. The auxiliary consists of volunteers in support of the fire department.

Candy Walecki, branch manager of North Shore Bank, said the company tries hard to work with and support non-profit organizations.

"We are pretty honored they asked us to work with them,” Walecki said. “Whenever we can help out any organizations, we try our best to make it work.“

The classic grandfather clock is stoically ticking away in the reception area inside North Shore Bank.

“Grandfather clocks are almost a piece of furniture, an heirloom for a family,” Walecki said.

Tickets are on sale now until July 14, 2012.

Tickets are $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets

Drawing:

The winner will be announced on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at North Shore Bank at 11 a.m. The winner does not have to be present in order to win.
