Great Escape: Take a Ride or Walk on the Scenic Bugline Trail in Sussex
Get away from it all by taking this wilderness adventure
Every week, Patch will highlight a “Great Escape” located in the Menomonee Falls-Sussex area where couples, singles, families or groups can have fun and relax.
The Bugline Recreation Trail is a 12.2-mile trail located in the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right-of-way that runs through the Sussex and Menomonee Falls area. The trail is part of the Waukesha County Park System.
At present the trail stretches between Appleton Avenue (County Highway 175) in Menomonee Falls and Main Street (County Trunk W.) in the Village of Merton. A separate four-foot bridle trail adjacent to the original eight-foot wide recreation trail extends 2.5 miles from the Ranch in Menomonee Falls to Menomonee Park, where it joins the park bridle trails.
