Great Escape: A Community Theater That Encourages Families To Get Involved

Falls Patio Players has been entertaining southeastern Wisconsin for 44 years.

“Great Escape” finds places in the Menomonee Falls-Sussex area where couples, singles or families can have fun, relax and stay closer to home.

How about a great escape to the theater this weekend? Celebrating 44 years as a theater group that has provided quality productions, plays and musicals, the Falls Patio Players continues to bring its family-oriented entertainment to area communities.

The group will be performing the musical “Annie” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday. The public is welcome to attend at the Menomonee Falls Middle School Campus, N88W16750 Garfield Drive.

“Annie” is a heart-warming musical set in America during the 1930s. Annie lives in an orphanage run by gin-swiggling tyrant Miss Hannigan, but yearns to find her long-lost parents and escape. Her luck changes when she is befriended by the billionaire businessman, Daddy Warbucks.

The Falls Patio Players, a not-for-profit theater company, encourages families to get involved, to work together and enjoy the camaraderie with others who have similar interests. The group members work with all the different aspects involved with theatrical productions from set building, costume design and creation, lighting and sound engineering and acting.

Also, the community theater organization supports local youth who may be interested in learning about theatrical productions, and actually would be interested in participating in one. Every summer the organization holds a two-week summer youth camp for young people who want to learn more.
