If you've been looking for a unique place to jump, climb and play in Waukesha County — look no more: Helium Trampoline Park in New Berlin offers what is sure to be a bouncing good time for all visitors. The park at 16235 W. Beloit Rd., is the first in Wisconsin and opened in early May. Milwaukee Patch Community Editor Sarah Worthman got a first-hand experience on the park's different equipment, climbing the rock wall, enjoying the 130 interconnected trampolines, a game of dodgeball and some fun in the foam pit. The development of the Sussex Meijer store is one step closer but still has to jump through more approvals and permitting processes.
The Meijer development in Sussex is one step closer after a resolution was reached between Sussex and Lisbon over a certified survey map outlining property boundaries, reported the Sussex Sun. The Schelling family, Sussex and Lisbon reached an agreement earlier this month that CSM would outline only those properties owned by Meijer that are now located in Sussex. Meijer is proposing to build a 191,000-square-foot, 24-hour, mixed grocery store and retail center on the site. The plans also include construction of a gas station. This is one of the final approvals needed for store, proposed at Highways 164 and K (Lisbon Road). Attention online shoppers: You might have to pony up more cash for those online shopping sprees, if federal sales tax legislation becomes law.
Online shoppers, who enjoyed avoiding paying sales tax for their out-of-state purchases, probably won't be happy if a bill pending in Congress becomes law. The Marketplace Fairness Act, which passed 69-27 in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, allows states the authority, and option, of collecting taxes on Internet and catalog sales. The act does not create a new tax. But it does allow states the option of collecting the taxes, which they are already owed. However, the legislation does exempt small businesses that make less than $1 million from collecting the tax. U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) voted for the bill, but Sen.
