Tuesday at Convention: Carolina on My Mind

Monday ended with a bang here in Charlotte, with a private concert by the legendary Tony Bennett, a rocking event with The Roots and other incredible acts, and John Legend. Earlier in the day, actor Jeff Bridges and the iconic James Taylor performed a rain-shortened event during the CarolinaFest celebration.

Day Two's breakfast speakers included our soon-to-be Congressman from the 2nd District, Mark Pocan, Senator Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota, and the Chair of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Schultz (who remembered your Racine-area delegates from coming in during the recall).

Tuesday's Convention events included the first meeting of the Women's Caucus, the LGBT Caucus, Rural Council, Senior Council, the Disability Caucus and the Small Business Owners Council.

Also Tuesday, the evening portion of the Democratic Convention officialy opened with evening speeches by Wisconsin's 4th CD Congresswoman Gwen Moore, San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro and the First Lady Michelle Obama, among many other incredible speakers. We also voted on the Democratic National Committee's official platform, after a rousing presentation by Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory
Booker (who some of the delegates met on Sunday).

So far things are running smoothly and delegates are having a great time! The staff of the DPW has been incredibly helpful, working so hard to ensure a great experience for delegates (a HUGE number of whom are participating in their first convention) - our hats are off to them for everything they are doing.

Did you purchase one of those "once you vote black you never go back" pins?

I think in honor of both the bang up job they did recalling Scott Walker and the acronym associated with them, the Wisconsin delegation should be put in charge of post convention cleanup.

Ban profits and no one will get food stamps and welfare as the wealth simply goes where it is wanted. It will leave where it is not. Liberal Ideas constantly advocate killing the goose that lays the golden eggs and advocate control of a smaller economy and a mediocre future for all . All but the Elite's that will set themselves up for personal reasons as in the real world they are overwhelming failures with laughable ideas.
