With the overcast sky and cloudy days, we are not receiving the bright sunlight days that houseplants need. If you have the ability to supplement the lighting conditions, with either a grow light or plant light for at least 8-10 hours a day, that would replicate sunnier days.

Also, when we hit these times of the year, our plants don't require as much watering as during the warmer and brighter days of spring. Plants can look like they are in need of watering, when in fact, they are drowning in water. Before you start watering your plants, actually check the soil to see if they are really in need of water. Place your index finger about 2 to 3 inches into the soil and see if it is damp to the touch. If this is the case, you don't need to add any water. It is always better to check than to drown and possibly kill your plants.
