Last Friday we decided to go try this new pizza place. There were a few people there sitting down and enjoying their food. We decided to get a 16" pizza - the Sussex Supreme on thin crust - and also two appetizers - fried calamari and the jalapeño poppers.
The pizza's crust was amazing, absolutely made to perfection. The ingredients all felt very fresh and the general taste was fantastic.
This IS the place to go for pizza in Sussex.
The fried calamari was very good, nice and tender, but for my taste it was a little heavy on breading. The poppers were also very good.
Service was excellent, we got our food pretty promptly, and everyone working at the establishment was very nice and open to ideas.
Overall, I think Marcileno's Pizzeria & Grill will do very well here in Sussex and I hope that not only will they get many customers from here, but also from neighborly communities. I believe teens will flock this place once the weather warms up. THUMBS UP!

We had dinner there last night and loved it. We had mushrooms and mozzarella sticks for appetizers, both of which were good. Our pizza was fantastic. We ordered the hand-tossed crust which was perfect...just a little crunch on the outside, but flaky on the inside. They even handled our special order (1/4 just sausage and pepperoni for my veggie hating son) without batting an eye. I look forward to being a repeat customer and trying the sandwiches next time.

Chris I feel the exact same way as you. We have ordered out since and the pizza came pretty fast. We tried the mushrooms which were great. Actually so much so that our toddler (who supposedly does not like mushrooms) ate 5 of them! Every time I pass by there I noticed they have quite a few people eating, so that makes me happy.

I get a lot of take-out, so I was excited to see the menu and try them, so I ordered a calzone and homemade chips for delivery and they said within the hour, after I waited 1hr20min I called and they told me it was on the way and would be here in 5 min.so I waited some more. After 1hr 47min I called and cancelled cuz it wasn't even made yet!!!!!That is a major problem and I have heard from other people that they are VERY disorganized and I believe it now and will pass alomg my experience.Already on Facebook.Cuz now I'm hungry and angry.....

Dawn,
I am so sorry to hear that. I have yet to have a bad experience there. Hmm. Would love to hear from others.

Dawn I believe in 2nd chances and hopefully in the near future you will give them another try. I can see why they can be disorganized they been only open for a month and running a brand new establishment can be a lot of work. Why would you go out your way and spread your bad experience with others in the area. I am sure weekends are really busy and didn't intentionally forget about you!!!!! FUTHER MORE MARCILENO'S ROCK!!! BEST PIZZA IN SUSSEX!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!

Dawn,
That experience you had was really a downer! You have every right to be upset, as bad experiences at restaurants are very frustrating. However, if this was your first time trying their food I would suggest that you do not let this keep you away! The food is delicious and you would truly be missing out. Also, if you end up spreading negative comments all around facebook, no one will want to go there, and they will all be missing out as well! They just opened up barely a month ago, give them a little time to get everything together. They will learn from their mistakes, and I'm sure the next time you order from there everything will be perfect

Pizza was good. Calzones were not what I expected. Too doughy.
I would like to see them succeed. The sauce on the pizza is very tasty.
Dawn, did they offer anything because they forgot your order? If not, that is where they went wrong. They should have offered you a free meal on another date. I am a true believer in trying a restaurant at least twice before you render a decision. Give them another shot and let us know your thoughts!

@Kim: I DO know the NY pizza as I lived there for over 5 years, and funny enough my husband and I said the same and I even suggested to them to offer garlic knots which I am sure you know them well.
@Pat: I have yet to try their calzone, but agree with you about the rest. I DO wish them MUCH success and really believe that once the good weather arrives I can see high schoolers filling up that place.
