Clint Eastwood Stars In A New Political Attack Ad

I'm confused - Clint Eastwood just spoke at the Republican National Convention in which he introduced Mitt Romney to the world and lost a debate to an empty chair - And now he is releasing this TV commercial in which he stumps for Obama and rips Romney a new one. He must have been either punch drunk at the RNC or he had a change of heart after actually meeting Romney . . . or maybe it was both.

The new ad, which is set to air during the 2012 NFL season-opener game between the Giants and Cowboys on Sept. 5 is very similar to his Chrysler commercial from last year's Superbowl, except that this one takes a definite political stance.

When a leader had failed as bad as Barack Hussein Obama, you FIRE them!

And how did Mr. Eastwood lose the debate when the only response is something an individual can not do to themselves?

That's 3 minutes and 22 seconds of my life that I'll never get back - then again, I should have known better considering the source ;-p

Admittedly, it was a little funny, but only because of how completely out-of-touch with reality it was!

Jason, could you please directly answer the following quesiton:

Why are you OK with the way in which Obama conducted the auto-bailouts wherein the taxpayers lost out on $25B+ while the UAW, Fiat, and private investors were permitted to profit off our losses, when there was a better way to handle those bailouts available - the way Bush originally structured them to be a straight-up interest bearing loan with a defined repayment schedule, just like Carter successfully did it with Chrysler back in '79 under Iaccoca?

Under Bush's plan, the taxpayers would have recovered all their money and even made a little interest.

We didn't need the Obama behind closed doors hanky-panky with his cars czar.

So why do you support it?

Thanks!

Because the way Obama structured it it ensured new blood in GM and Chrylser and a longer life. And yes, the tax payers will make some profit in the end.
Now ask me why Paul Ryan voted for that plan if it was so horrible. Now tell me why Romney was so willing to let those companies and the tens of thousands of employees die out instead of bailing them out? Not one private company was interested in helping them while saving all of those jobs.
They are both going STRONG right now - which is a ton more than I can say for how they were doing under Bush.

@Jason -

"... ensured new blood in GM and Chrylser and a longer life."

How so? Please provide an analysis as to how the Bush/Ryan plan would not have accomplished the same ends as Obama's crooked deal of keeping the two auto companies alive. All that was needed was money. Both plans gave money. Bush/Ryan did via straight up loans. Obama did it with a back room deal directing money to select special interests without requiring them to ever repay it.

And Chrysler was stronger than ever after the successful Carter/Iaccoca bailout. Right now, GM isn't looking to hot and Obama gave Chrysler away to Fiat! Why was that necessary?

You haven't explained anything.

"And yes, the tax payers will make some profit in the end."

Please provide a reliable source to some primary facts, as EVERYTHING that Hoffa has ever seen conclusively proves that the taxpayers will lose out on billions in the end, even if GM stock comes back to a level where a profit could be realized from its sale by the Fed.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/13/us-auto-bailout-treasury_n_1773811.html

If you had any integrity at all, then you should have just said:

"I'll ignore the facts and reality and make up a bunch of crap to support Obama no matter what, even if my answer has no grounding in facts or reality."

BTW - Get your facts straight. Ryan voted in favor of the Bush/Carter plan while opposing Obama's hanky-panky deal with select special interests.

Clint tried to do a good job, $$ gives him that much. I don't think he was drunk, he is just old. And I agree with Clint's intent. Obama is a failure. Take the night off boys. Yes Jason, we watched it. The language was totally inappropriate (do you kiss your wife with that mouth?) and full of the same rhetoric you and the other Liberals have been spouting this entire election.

What was with showing the Bin Laden bit? You still trying to give credit to Barack Hussein Obama for his death? It took ten years of intelligence work and Navy Seal team 6 to get him. Obama just happened to be the one in the White House when it all came together.

Bin Laden is irrelevant - he wasn't even a threat anymore when he was taken out. It's like killing one of those old Nazi's that escaped to South America and is living a life of peaceful retirement. While there may be some justice for the past victims of their terror, it is completely meaningless as far as our current safety is concerned.

Mr. Hoffa, bin Laden was the primary motivator (emotional, political, and I suspect financial) of al Quaida. We know he wasn't going to be captured while Bush was in office, despite the fact it would have been a pr boost. That's because demonizing Saddam Hussein was more profitable to the defense contractors (of whom Eisenhower warned decades ago), and because of the connection between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family, to whom bin Laden is related.

And capturing Nazis is very important to the survivors and families because as with all heinous crimes, capturing the criminal brings justice and closure. Don't dare try to marginalize Nazi war criminals. If they were repentant they would have turned themselves in.

@Bren the skimmer/skipper -

Your reading comprehension is as bad as Jason's. Please try re-reading the last sentence of Hoffa's original comment on this issue.

And if bin Laden was still as big as you claim he was, then didn't killing him just martyr him to those who follow him and continue his cause, thus making him even more dangerous in death to us than he was still alive and mostly irrelevant?

Wow, that little photoshop took so much time and effort didn't it? Or did you just copy and paste?

My project on the other hand took a few hours, a lot of hard work and a lot of creativity and originality. I will admit however that my Eastwood voice could use some more practice - but who has THAT much time on their hands?
The day you actually create something original on your own I will give you credit.

Also, how come none of you use your real names? I do....

Given the results, I'd suggest a little modesty (false if necessary - "something I threw together in the my spare time", for instance) might be a better way to go. The above kind of sounds like a kid who turned in a third rate science project and who wants credit for the effort.

I agree with Bob. Don't flatter yourself, Patzfahl. The brilliance of Eastwood is he delivered a very funny and pointed message, with terrific mind-images, without once having to decend into potty-mouth-ism. Which seems to be your stock in trade. Most folks vocabularies increase over time, unless they arrest their own growth, giving us this clumsy product of your film degree. Don't put it on your resume.

@ Jimmy Hoffa: "Bin Laden is irrelevant" . . . Tell that to the widows, widowers and sons and daughters of the nearly 3,000 victims of the 911 attacks.

And as far as your "Obama just happened to be the one in the White House when it all came together" comment - Just about everyone else in the war room voted not to commence the raid, but Obama made the decision to send the SEALS into the compound - Look it up, it's a fact. Not that those things matter to you Fox News junkies.

Under President Obama the US has created 4.5 MILLION private sector jobs in the last 2.5 years (more than Bush did in 8 years) and tens of thousands of teachers, firefighters and police officers never lost theirs because of programs and $ he put into place. Bush and Romney were willing to let these workers fall flat on their faces instead of using a little tax payer $ to keep them employed...

Oh, and thanks to the auto bailout, GM sales increased 10 percent and Chrysler sales rose 14 percent marking their best August performance since 2007. The rising demand helped push total U.S. auto sales last month to an annual rate of 14.5 million. That’s the best monthly sales pace since the government’s “Cash for Clunkers” rebate program in August of 2009 - Thanks Obama!!!
