Aloe Vera: the Dual-Purpose Houseplant

This is my favorite plant to have in the house: Aloe Vera. It serves a dual purpose as a houseplant and it assists in healing minor burns.

You just cut or snap off a leave and squeeze out the interior liquid onto the minor burn, covering the wound is not necessary. The remaining part of the leave can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.

NOTE: Do not apply to broken skin or raised blistering burns. Do not apply to a fresh sunburn until after the skin has cooled down and is not hot to the touch. (This can be up to two days later in some cases).

Aloe Vera does love warm weather and direct sun. Water lightly as it holds water in its leaves. Very drought tolerant plant.

Aloe is great, cheap and super easy to find. I'm curious, any suggestions for homeopathic remedies for an inability to fall asleep? I think I've heard lavender can help. Thoughts?

Yes, lavender and/or jasmine are great herb plants to assist in the inability to fall asleep. I have seem them in small pillows at local stores in our area. Or if you are crafty, you can make them yourself from fresh herbs from the farmer's market.
