Teaser Tuesday Rules:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

"James was referred to us by a judge who had received so many different opinions about the boy's situation that he hoped we could clarify what was going on. The children's legal advocacy organization was worried that he was being abused by his adoptive parents."
You might notice that this Teaser Tuesday quote is a bit out of the ordinary for my blog. It's from the book "The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog," written by Dr. Bruce Perry. It's actually a book I'm reading because my work is focusing a lot on Trauma Informed Care. It's hard reading a lot of the stories of abuse and neglect, but Dr. Perry talks about how trauma (abuse, neglect, etc.) can have a profound impact on a child's brain - even for a baby. It's a fascinating read and he really shares a lot about the children he's treated and the hope they each have helped him find.
What are you all reading? And, my random question for today: who out there is on Pinterest?
