What Businesses Should Occupy Mammoth Springs?
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, but in fall a major development could open up several business opportunities. What businesses should head to Sussex?
A $21.6 million opportunity for residential and retail growth is set to break ground sometime in fall if all goes will at the village government level.
As many residents already know, Arthur Sawall is planning to construct a seven-building complex with a mix of retail and residential spaces on Main Street and Waukesha Avenue. The construction would occur in phases with two "high-end housing" buildings coming first. According to the proposal, new multifamily or commercial buildings would arise annually from 2014 through 2019.
The village is prepared to invest roughly $4.7 million over the life of the project if the developer reaches construction benchmarks as time progresses.
But as new commercial spaces become ready for tenants, what businesses would you like to occupy those new spaces?
On Friday, Patch posted an article with the top five rated restaurants in Sussex listed on Yelp!. It was clear from readers that something is clearly missing in Sussex.
“It would help if Sussex actually had more quality restaurants to rate. Please, no more fast food or bars with (televisions) on every inch of wall space,” said Katie F. in the comments on the article.
Unfortunately, some of the top restaurants listed by Yelp! were in Pewaukee.
“How can you say Top Five restaurants in Sussex when two of them are in Pewaukee?” asked Nancy K.
Therefore, with numerous new business locations opening up in the next few years, what would you like to see at Mammoth Springs? Please tell us in the comments below, and let’s get the discussion started.
