Today at the Fair: Foreigner, Longest Hair and Bubble Gum Contests; Wristband Rides
Check out all the activities happening at the Waukesha County Fair on Friday.
The Waukesha County Fair continues through Sunday at the Waukesha County Expo. Here are some of the top things you should know about the fair today. A complete schedule is attached to this article.
Admission, Hours and Rides
The fair opens Friday at noon and lasts until midnight. Ticket prices are: Adults, $9; Youth (6-12) $3; Children 5 and under, free. Parking is $5 (motorcycle parking is free).
It’s a wristband day at the fair. Ride unlimited for $23 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bubble Gum, Long Hair Contest
Do you have extreme talent of blowing large bubbles from gum? The bubble gum blowing contest will be held from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Family Fun Stage inside the arena marketplace. After the gum contest is over, the longest hair contest will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
We would suggest not mixing the two contests. Gum and hair have never been the best combination.
Foreigner takes the stage at 8 p.m.
From a fair news release:
Formed in 1976 by lead guitarist Mick Jones, Foreigner is a band continually forging new musical peaks. Sold-out shows on a recent world tour demonstrate the band’s formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel album sales. Foreigner has over 14 Top 20 hits including “Cold As Ice,” “Juke Box Hero,” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.” As successful as the band has been with ballads, Foreigner is and always will be a high-energy rock band.
Make sure you find Patch at the fair. Spin the prize wheel for a flying disc, sunglasses, tote bag or other Patch prizes. Kids can play our putting game and get a free temporary tattoo or some bubbles.
