Sussex Week Ahead: Valentine's Day and Half-Day

This is a list of the things to do and places to be this week in Sussex.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is finally on Tuesday, and we've been gearing up for the big day. Patch has asked how much money you're planning to spend on the holiday and told you how much the nation plans on spending. We even asked when and how you talk to your kids about sex and relationships. But the holiday is finally here, and whether or not you have a lovebird, it's a day to spend with your loved ones. Happy Valentine's Day!

Village Board Meeting

It's your village, so make a difference! The Village Board will be meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the lower-level of Village Hall. Stop by the meeting and voice your concerns and comments about Sussex. Know of a problem around the village? Swing by the board and address it. After taking citizen comments, the board will also be going over various topics on its agenda.

Sussex Patch's Office Hours

Every Wednesday, you can find me, Andy Ambrosius, at Starbucks on Main Street from 1-3 p.m. for "office hours." While it's not exactly my office, we can sip coffee and chat about anything you'd like: ideas for stories, Sussex Patch improvements, etc. So swing by and say "Hey!" I'll be the guy with the big Patch laptop.

Templeton and Hamilton Band Concert

Let the arts unite! The student bands from both Templeton Middle School and Hamilton High School will be joining forces on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for a joint performance. Held at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center, the student performance is free and open to the public.

Half-Day of School

It's right up there next to snow days on the awesome-meter. Students in the Hamilton School District will have a half-day of school on Friday, kicking off the weekend for a good time. Parents, be prepared.
