From area meetings to the annual Antique Power Show, this is a list of places to be this week in Sussex.
Park and Rec Board Meeting
The Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Sussex Community Center. Items discussed by the board will include the Village Park reconstruction project and potential 2013 park upgrades. The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
Hamilton School Board Meeting
There's a Hamilton School Board meeting on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hamilton High School's library. The School Board will be talking about multiple items on its agenda, including the updates to Marcy and Woodside elementary schools. The meeting is open to the public, and it's expected to only take 45 minutes, so attend and see what's happening in your district first-hand.
Sussex Antique Engine Show
Starting Saturday at 9 a.m. at Village Park, the Sussex Antique Power Association will hold its 54th annual Antique Engine Show. The show will feature samplings of classic equipment, from steam traction engines to corn shellers. The annual parade is on both Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m., followed by the "straw pile drive" on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Volunteers will give free wagon rides around Village Park. Keep your eyes peeled for a comlete breakdown on Patch later this week.
