Sussex Native Riding in 2013 Presidential Inauguration
Patty Braeger Roelofs will ride as part of her Deerfield riding group on Jan. 21.
A Sussex native and her horse will gallop the streets of Washington D.C. for the 57th U.S. Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 21.
Patty Braeger Roelofs will ride as part of the Deefield riding group, the Freedom Stables, reported the Sussex Sun.
The 1970 Hamilton High School graduate is daughter of longtime Sussex resident Carol Braeger and her late husband, Jerry.
Carol Braeger said her daughter has loved horses since she was young, according to the Sun. The first thing she ever drew was a horse. Now all grown up, Patty Braeger Roelofs has owned many horses and has earned the honor to ride in the 2013 Inauguration Parade.
The group Freedom Stables is part of AT EASE, a group dedicated to working with veterans and active military personnel to help them gain self-confidence while working with horses.
The 2013 Presidential Inauguration is at 11 a.m. CST Monday.
