Suspect admits taking a check, then cashing it at a Waukesha bank.

A 25-year-old Sussex man is accused of stealing a check from his brother, then cashing it at a Waukesha bank.

Joshua E. Fazekas was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of uttering a forgery and one count of forgery. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On July 11, Fazekas’ brother contacted the Waukesha Police Department to report his brother had stolen a check from him and cashed it for $220 at Associated Bank, 100 E. Sunset Drive. The victim said Fazekas is a Percocet addict and it wasn’t the first time he stole from him.

Fazekas admitted to the theft when questioned by police. He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $500 bond while awaiting trial.
