Get Your Roll On: Sushi Restaurant Opening in Falls

Sakura Sushi and Grill will open in spring within the North Pointe shopping center on Appleton Avenue.

Menomonee Falls is home to Chinese, Mexican, Italian, American and Greek cuisine. Now, residents will soon add Japanese cuisine to their international choices.

Chun Yeung, of Fond du Lac, plans to open Sakura Sushi and Grill in spring 2013 inside the North Pointe Centre across from Menomonee Falls High School at N78W14565 Appleton Ave.

Yeung has over 10 years of experience in the Japanese restaurant business. He opened his first restaurant in 2000 in Fond du Lac, but closed that location to tend to family matters back in Hong Kong. He got his start working for his parents in 1996. After a few years out of the country, Yeung is back in the states and is excited to start business in Falls.

“We did surveying and population studies, and we thought the market in Menomonee Falls was great for the location,” Yeung said. “Sushi is becoming more popular, we want to enter that market for more healthy choices.”

Yeung said Sakura would be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Price for entrees would range from $10-$25. Yeung said the menu would feature New York-style Japanese fusion choices.

That's a pretty standard price for sushi - plus there will be other entrees served here.
