Primary election will be held on Nov. 6 if necessary.

A special election to replace Sen. Rich Zipperer, R-Pewaukee, who left the Senate to take a top administrative position with Gov. Scott Walker’s staff, will be held Dec. 4.

Walker announced Tuesday that interested candidates for the 33rd Senate District can begin circulating nomination papers for the election. The deadline to file the signatures is 5 p.m. Oct. 9. The district includes residents in Waukesha and Sussex, in additon to communities in Lake Country.

Two RepublicansRep. Chris Kapenga and Rep. Paul Farrow – have already announced they are running in the election. If a primary is necessary, it will be held on Nov. 6.

“By holding the primary on the same day as the General Election, we will reduce the cost to taxpayers,” Walker said in a prepared statement.

Come on people, I'm in this district and have spoken to both of them. I have respect for Chris and Paul. However, if Paul is okay with his supporters throwing this stuff out there that is simply not true, then the respect will soon be gone. I was likely a Farrow supporter to begin with and probably still am, but Kapenga is still a good member of the party. Sounds like there are some are still harboring hard feelings from his win a few years ago.

Will Kapenga buy this election like he did for state assembly?
