Saturday's Sledding Party Postponed

Lack of snow is to blame for the lack of fun.

Those looking forward to the Sussex sledding party on Saturday will have to rework their schedules as the event has been postponed.

Parks director Amy Flaherty made the announcement on Tuesday after reports of additional snow looked dismal.

"The weather forecast does not look like it is going to change this week, so I’m making the call early and am canceling the Sledding Party," Flaherty said. "I’ll plan for the Feb. 18 date and maybe we’ll have more snow then."

So Sussex sledders, mark your calendars for Feb. 18 from 1-3 p.m. at Sussex Village Park and cross your fingers for more snow. Even though it's been postponed, Patch is still going to be there with hot chocolate, marshmallows and cookies.

Sussex Patch will be sure to post an additional reminder the week of the rescheduled party so everyone remembers to join in the fun.
