Get you face paint and pompoms ready for next week as homecoming at Hamilton High School is right around the corner.  

The annual event takes on a special meaning this year as the school celebrates  its 50th anniversary. 

The community is invited to a homecoming open house at the school from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 when story boards that was put together by the National Honor Society, memorabilia, and artifacts will be on display, detailing the school's rich history.  

During the same night, the Sussex Lions and district staff will be serving a fish fry in the cafeteria. 

It's time for some football after dinner as the Hamilton Chargers take the field to face West Allis Central for their homecoming football game. A presentation including an introduction of former staff will be held on the track at 6:45 p.m. Fireworks are also planned for after the football game. 

Dinner is $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Children under 5-years-old eat free.  

Students will be getting in the homecoming mood with a powder puff football game, bonfire and fireworks starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. 

The week will also be marked by a food drive in which students can donate items at lunch and the community can donate at the football game. 

The homecoming dance will cap off the week on Saturday, Oct. 6. It will be held in the gym from 7 to 11 p.m.  

Remember parents, Friday Oct. 5 is a half-day early release for the students.
