Poll: People Don't Know What to Think About Wisconsin
42 percent of people surveyed in a Public Policy Polling poll gauging Americans' perceptions of the states said they aren't sure how they feel about the Dairy State.
California ranked dead last, with 44 percent of people surveyed saying they have an unfavorable opinion of the state. The Huffington Post noted that many Republicans surveyed said they "absolutely hate" California. Illinois, New Jersey, Mississippi and Utah round out the list of states with negative reviews.
Hawaii was the favorite state by a wide margin, with 54 percent saying they had a favorable opinion of the island paradise; 10 percent saw the state in a negative light. The top 10 also included Colorado, Tennessee, South Dakota, Virginia, Montana, Alaska, Oregon, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Wisconsin's results are mixed. 40 percent had a favorable impression of the state and 17 percent an unfavorable impression. But the biggest category was those who said they weren't sure, coming in at 42 percent of people surveyed.
Maybe it's the political turmoil here, or our unassuming Midwestern natures, but let's take a moment to toot our own horns. What do you like about Wisconsin?
Upload a photograph of your favorite things about Wisconsin, and tell us about it in the caption or comments. I've gotten things started with a picture of Friday's snowfall. There's always something special about a the first snowfall that coats the trees.
