Police Reports: Two OWIs and an Elderly Sexual Assault

These are the most interesting police reports from last week.

OWI

Monday, Dec. 12 at 1:39 a.m.
Multiple tickets were issued to Keith Singsheim of the Village of Sussex after he slid off the road while driving on Main Street west of Sussex Road. The 29-year-old man was taken to jail after police realized he was drunk and in possession of marijuana. This is his second offense OWI.

OWI

Monday, Dec. 12 at 12:54 p.m.
Police pulled over Michael Wild of Hubertus for reckless driving, but soon realized he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The 52-year-old man was pulled over near the intersection of Highway 164 and Clover Drive. Wild also had an open bottle of whiskey in the car. He was cited for an OWI and open intoxicants.

Domestic Disturbance

Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 4:03 p.m.
A woman from Sussex went to the police station on Tuesday to report her husband had beaten her on Monday. The 28-year-old husband from New Berlin was taken into custody. However, the next day he was cited again at 12:49 p.m. for violating the 72-hour no contact order placed by the court.

Disorderly Conduct

Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 7:55 p.m.
Police were called to Dive Bar after a former employee came in and began screaming at the manager. The manager said the 22-year-old woman from Germantown began causing trouble, he informed her she no longer worked there, but she continued swearing and yelling. She received Sussex citations for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

Sex Assault

Thursday, Dec. 15 at 12:39 p.m.
Police were notified that an 89-year-old man inappropriately touched a 55-year-old mentally handicapped woman at the Sussex Community Center. It’s reported that the man was talking to the woman, gave her a hug, reached up and grabbed her breast for a few seconds. Police are no longer investigating or pursuing the case because of its unusual nature, but the elderly Sussex man is no longer welcome at the Community Center.

Thanks for the update on the assault. It was close to my house, and I was starting to worry about my kids playing in town.

Are you kidding me this supposed assult was by an 89 year old man that might not have been in his right capacities. I think this is proven by the fact the police are no longer investigating this incident. What does this have to do with your kids playing outside in Sussex. Sussex is a very safe community I have lived her my entire life and have never worried about kids playing outside. As a mater of fact I belive the village board recently enacted strict laws dealing with sexual preditors in our community making us even safer

Arnold, I believe Wasilvers may have heard there was a sexual assault case police were investigating near his/her house, but didn't know of any other details. He/she is probably just relieved to see it wasn't the sexual assault of a child in her neighborhood.

Thanks, Andy is right. I heard there was an assault near my house, but no details were given. Now with details, it seems like I don't need to worry about them (as much). But I am not naive to think they are perfectly safe in our town.
