The AFW Foundry on the N6000 block of Village Drive called police after they discovered a man walked into their break room, stole a laptop and walked out. Police are still following up, but employees describe the suspect as a 35-year-old black man who is about 6’2 and 200 lbs.
Hit and Run
Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7:18 p.m.
Police were called to Dive Bar during Thursday night’s indoor volleyball league after someone discovered their car had been hit by another motor vehicle. The suspect drove a dark colored vehicle, but that is the only thing patrons or bartenders can remember. There’s no surveillance video of the parking lot, so it’s still under investigation.
Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:26 a.m. and 10:57 a.m.
A 45-year-old Lannon woman was caught not once, but twice by police at the Sussex Starbucks on Main Street for driving under the influence of alcohol – on the same day. When asked by police, the woman said she had taken some medication the night before, and that was the reason for her erratic driving. However, the woman was still arrested. Blood work is still being done to determine her blood alcohol content.
Criminal Damage to Property
Friday, Dec. 2 at 11:25 p.m.
Police caught a 17-year-old juvenile at the corner of Champeny Road and Locust Street shooting paint balls out the window of his vehicle at street signs. He was cited for disorderly conduct and released to his mother at home.
Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2:04 p.m.
An unknown man was caught on surveillance at the Main Street Piggly Wiggly stealing a roast and two t-bone steaks from the store. He was described as a white male, 6’1 and about 240 lbs. Police, however, have no leads and will not follow up on the theft.
Sunday, Dec. 4 at 8:12 p.m.
A Sussex mother called police on Sunday after learning her 15-year-old daughter had been having sex with a 24-year-old Hartford man between Sept. and Oct. of this year. The police now have to interview everyone involved, including the family, to see if the mother still wants to press charges. Also, if police discover the two only had sex at the man’s Hartford home, police would turn it over because it’s in another jurisdiction.
