Art students throughout the Hamilton School District wrangled in a crowd Thursday night in honor of the Annual Youth Art Month, and the number of Sussex residents that showed up amazed organizers.

Celebrated at the Pauline Haass Public Library, the art reception honoring students and teachers ran between 4-6 p.m.

Kara Rosenthal, the library's youth services director, took photos during the event and was impressed with the turnout.

"We had 642 people visit the Hamilton Youth Art Month art reception last Thursday!" Rosenthal said. "The Friends of the Library provided refreshments, and the library's children's department provided create-your-own art activities and face painting."

The Hamilton High School Jazz Ensemble also performed during the event, and the high school's AP art students had a special display in the Quad/Graphics Room in the library.

All the student artwork will remain on display through the month of March.
