Patterson, Koepnick Named Conference Offensive Back and Lineman of the Year

Eight other Hamilton football players honored by the conference.

Hamilton running back Drew Patterson and lineman Tony Koepnick were named the Greater Metro Conference Offensive Back and Lineman of the Year, according to the Sussex Sun.

Patterson, a junior, rushed for 1,969 yards and 26 touchdowns during the season.

"Drew has the ability to run past you, through you or around you," Hamilton coach John Damato said to the paper.

Koepnick anchored the offensive line with his 6-3, 284-pound frame, the paper noted.

"I think Tony is a model for persistence," Damato said to the newspaper. "He never wavered from his own personal goals, and he knew the only way he could accomplish them was through hard work."

Tight end Tony Gumina and center Sufyan Hamouda earned first-team All Conference. On defense, defensive back Jake Knueppel, inside linebacker Aaron Zagorski and defensive lineman Joe Eggert earned first-team All Conference.

Guard Andrew Poenitsch, running back Nick Knoebel and defensive lineman Cory Caliendo earned second-team All Conference honors.
