Joan L. "Joanie" Schmidt (nee Mellies) of Hartford, formerly of Sussex, passed away on Feb. 12, at 76-years-old.
Beloved wife of Elten. Loving mother of Michael (Sue), Susan (Robert) Blau and Sandra (John) Scaffidi. Proud grammy of Maria, Michelle (Ryan) Boers, David, Bobby, Christopher and Dan. Furthur survived by other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. until time of the service. Private burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials to Sussex United Methodist Church appreciated.

I have know Elten and Joan for 14 years, durring that time I fell in love with them! My heart goes out to Elten and his family during this time. I am so sorry that I cannot make the service today, but just know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Joan was a very special lady I have nothing but fond memories of her. Your family in Green Bay is thinking of you all!
