Man Charged After Hitting Mailbox While Driving Drunk in Front of Police

Deputies see suspect hit a mailbox on Main Street as they finished a call, then pull man over shortly afterwards and charge him with his second OWI.

A 51-year-old Sussex man is facing charges after he drove drunk down Main Street Friday and hit a mailbox in front of a Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy.

Randy J. Moll was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of second offense operating while intoxicated. If convicted, he faces up to six months in prison and $1,100 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 12:44 a.m. Friday, two deputies had just finished a call in the W24100 block of Main Street when they saw Moll driving eastbound in a pickup truck, leave the road, hit a mailbox then get back on the road and speed up. A deputy then caught up to him and pulled him over.

Moll failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of 0.107.

Moll was previously convicted of OWI in 2003. He is currently free on a $2,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.

Dude went off the road and hit a mailbox, and was at a .107. What an idiot! He must have been on something else. Sucks to be him
