Man Charged After Heroin Overdose
Suspect overdoses while in a Sussex home playing video games with a friend in January.
A 23-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he allegedly overdosed on heroin at a Sussex home.
Brian D. Fredrichs was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 30 days in jail and $500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Jan. 8, Waukesha County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the N5800 block of Aster Drive for a drug overdose and when they arrived, they found Fredrichs laying on a porch unresponsive with another man standing over him. The man said Fredrichs had come over to play video games and decided to inject himself with heroin.
Fredrichs then began convulsing, so the man took Fredrichs outside hoping the cool air would help him. Inside the home, officers found paraphernalia related to heroin use.
He will make his initial appearance in court Oct. 1.
