The Pauline Haass Library offers an array of programs, special events and resources for the entire community. Below is a list of happenings compiled by the library:
The library will be starting its new catalog on Wednesday, November 28. This new system will have a new look, easy log-in procedures, easier searching, text notifications and the ability to retain a reading history. We appreciate your patience during the change to our new system.
Holiday Piano Sunday
The library is looking for pianists of all ages who feel accomplished enough to confidently entertain library users with holiday music on Sunday, December 16, 2:00-3:45 p.m. Performers should be prepared to present either a fifteen minute or a thirty minute program. Parental permission is required for performers under the age of 16. Contact the Adult Services Desk at 262-246-5181 to sign up.
Holiday Cookie Madness
December 12 at 6-7 p.m. teens are welcome to come decorate cookies at the library. Plain cookies will be transformed into festive delights! Bring your holiday spirit, creative vision, and of course –a sweet tooth! Also there will be a white elephant gift exchange. Bring a gently used, colorfully wrapped gift to participate. Your trash could be someone else’s treasure! No registration is required
Teen Book Club (Grades 7-9)
Join other teens in November to talk about this month’s book choice, graphic novel Bad Island by Doug TenNapel. Teens who attended October’s book club reviewed popular new fiction and chose this title for November’s discussion. Books are generously provided by the Friends of the Pauline Haass Public Library. The next book club will meet Thursday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required; register in person at the Youth Services Desk and get your copy of the book today.

Playgroup Stop by the library for Family Storytime or Stories & More and then stay to play! Join families from throughout the community for a morning of informal play at the library. No registration. Tuesdays & Fridays Sept 11-Dec 4 (excluding11/20 & 11/23) 10:30-11:30 a.m.
5K & 1st Grade Experience It!:
Once a month on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:15 p.m. Experience something new through imagination and play! Join us for one or more of these hands-on learning classes. Registration required; register in person at the Children’s Services Desk.
4th, 5th & 6th Grade Book Discussion:
Once a month on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Join us once a month as we talk about Waukesha County Kids’ Choice Award nominees and enjoy an after-school snack. Books generously provided by the Friends of the Pauline Haass Library. Registration required; register in person at the Children’s Services Desk.
The Candymakers by Wendy Mass
On Tuesdays until Dec. 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. Join knitters of all ages and skill levels at the library’s weekly Knitting Club. Share tips and project ideas as you work on your latest project. All ages. No registration.
Twice a month on Wednesdays until to Dec. 19 from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Join other LEGO-loving kids twice a month to create and build with LEGOs. Ages 5 and older. No registration.
