Hamilton Senior Wins Kohl Scholarship

Emily Blackwell will be honored at a luncheon with Sen. Herb Kohl on March 31 in Milwaukee.

 

Hamilton High School senior Emily Blackwell has been named a recipient of a scholarship from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation.

According to a press release, Blackwell will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the foundation for having demonstrated excellence in the academic arena and high motivation to achieve, have displayed a broad range of activity and leadership outside the academic setting, and have shown strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond.   

There were 175 graduating high school students to receive the award this year and 100 teachers were also recipients of the foundation’s fellows awards.

Blackwell and other winners from school districts within CESA No. 1 will be honored at a luncheon wuth U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl on March 31 at Riverside University High School in Milwaukee.
