Hamilton High School Mourns Death of Football Player
Counselors were on hand for students returning from vacation after Aaron Zagorski, 18, died on New Year's Day.
Hamilton High School students and staff are mourning the death of a student on the first day back in class after the holidays.
Senior Aaron Zagorski, 18, died of a gunshot wound Tuesday. Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputy Jennifer Wallschleger said the department received the call about Zagorski’s death at 9:35 a.m. She said the detective’s bureau is still compiling evidence and information about the incident, and no further information could be released.
Hamilton public relations coordinator Denise Lindberg said counselors were available for individual students Wednesday on an as-needed basis.
Zagorski played linebacker for the Chargers varsity football team this year, and earned first team all conference honors. He was also named a Hamilton Student of the Month in November in the business department.
The family will receive relatives and friends during a service at 9 a.m. Jan. 5 at St. James Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. A mass will follow at noon.
According to his obituary with the Schmidt and Bartelt funeral home, Zagorski will be remembered for his, “tremendous sense of humor, his quick wit, and his sensible heart.”
