Dozens Of Thanksgiving Day Meals To Be Provided By Lions
Sussex Lions Club to deliver 248 meals after successful food drive.
An estimated $2,100 was taken in last weekend during a Sussex Lions Club food drive to buy Thanksgiving Day dinner for the Sussex Food Pantry clients, according to the Sussex Sun.
The club, which held the drive at Pick n' Save and Piggly Wiggly, is expecting to deliver 248 meals this year, the paper said.
The club also received a cart full of food, according to club member John Haunfelder, who spoke to the Sussex Sun.
The next drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16.
The pantry is part of the Sussex Outreach Services organization that provides low income clients with food, clothing, counseling, educational training and preventive health programming.
The Food Pantry is located at N63 W23626 Silver Spring Dr. Donations can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

The pantry is open from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
