NJ Gov. Chris Christie to Campaign with Scott Walker in Milwaukee, Green Bay

The GOP 'rock star' plans to join Gov. Scott Walker during his last month of the campaign before the Wisconsin recall election.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — often dubbed one of the "rock stars" of the Republican party — is headed to Wisconsin next month to campaign for Gov. Scott Walker.

The May 1 visit to Green Bay and Milwaukee comes about one month before the Republican governor will try to retain his seat in the state's historic recall election.

Details were sketchy, but it appears anyone who wants to attend one of the two events will have to contribute $20 to Walker and will then be entered into a drawing for the chance to take part.

"With your $20 contribution to Governor Walker’s campaign, you will be given a chance to not only see these two men of action in person, but will have a keepsake of a lifetime to take home with you," according to an email the Walker campaign sent out Wednesday. "You may enter  as many times as you like and with each $20 contribution, your chances of winning will increase."

Those chosen to attend the two events would get a chance to have their photos taken with Walker and Christie, who the Walker campaign described as "two of the greatest voices for conservative causes in the United States."

It’s not the first time the New Jersey politician has visited the Badger State on Walker’s behalf. He also visited in October 2010 to endorse Walker during the initial election, according to NJ.com.

And the outspoken governor has a long history endorsing multiple GOP candidates. According to the Huffington Post, he endorsed both Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination and as well as Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts.

Christie's name has frequently been mentioned as a possible running mate for Romney, and the governor has said he remains open to the idea.

“I love this job (governor) and I’m not looking to do it (vice president),” Christie told ABC News. “But I also think it is extraordinarily arrogant for you to say you won’t even listen to the nominee of your party – especially for me. It’s someone who I’ve been supporting since last October vigorously around the country – that I wouldn’t take a call from Mitt Romney."

I don't like Scott Walker, Chris Christie or Mitt Romney. All three come off as bullies and they are obviously not putting the interest of the people ahead of the corporations who funnel cash into their coffers. I hope the first two are voted out of office and Mitt is never elected at all. America need politicians who care about the people they represent, not the corporations who rule them.

How come so many of you don't understand how the real world works. These corporations also happen to "funnel cash" to their employees. It's what makes the world go around, but one would need to take the blue fist blinders off to see that.

1st off i think all the name calling needs to stop. Being liberal of conservative does not make you lazy, or a bully, or a bad person.

Now to address FallsConservative.

Corporations do pay their employees, but most not very well, and if we were to make corporations pay fair bits of taxes, regulate how much they pollute, the minimum they can pay their employees is the more that goes into our economy.

Small businesses like the ones corporations drive out when they move into a new town, also pay their employees, most times better then corporations. and with small businesses they don't have stockholders they most keep happy by cutting jobs in the US for overseas jobs to make more money.

Again FallsConservative, your not a bad person, you don't have blinders on we just see the world differently which is fine. Thanks for making the good point. I look forward to reading you hopefully kind and peaceful response.

Enjoy this beautiful weekend.

Matt: Do some research about taxing Corporations on this planet. The US is by far the highest tax for Corporations. Do you think that maybe that is why all our jobs are going overseas?
Time to wake up and get your head out of the sand. Thank Slick Willy for no jobs- he gave China most favored Nation status. All them jobs are in China, and the ones left here are paying less in order to compete with the low wages in China.
A $20/ hr job here compares to $0.30/ hr in China- when everything evens out.... the wage will drop to $10/hr here and increase to $10/hr there.
And your boy Barack Hussein ain't done squat!

I'm with you on Christie. I think he's a pig - and that is, in no way, shape or form a critique of his physique. The man is rude and lacks common decency. He's a bully, bullies are intellectually weak. They're unable to make their point with reasoned and civilized debate and discussion, so they resort to intimidation and bullying. I don't think that type of disposition is going to set well with the midwest kindness and civility.

Randy I think we are seeing what it will do to the economy already. Lower wages coupled with a Government that has a spending addiction means paying more in taxes is an impossible task for the middle class. Raising taxes on Corporations is suicide if you look at Europe's low corporate rates. In a nutshell, we're screwed. We need a leader who is going to cut up the credit cards and stop the shopping spree. Only then will we see taxes stay put and not double.

@Craig -- What have we 'bought' that we really don't need, other than the two wars. I agree with you about foreign aid to countries that go on to flip us off, but that's just a drop in the bucket.

However, I wasn't talking about the federal budget so much as the general economy. If everyone but a lucky few makes $10 an hour, who is going to be able to afford the houses and the cars and the clothing? Who will be paying the taxes?

As a small business owner I always find it funny the hate that goes on for a corporation. You would think that I am against large corporations but they are just small business that became successful. You choose to use their products ever day. You expect them to invent product that you want even before you know you want them. You invest in them for your 401K or mortgage or loan or employment but then trash them for not paying their fair share, whatever that means, even with the highest corporate tax rate in the world.

As a start up company from scratch would think I hate them more than you, scared of them. But just like them I start small with an original idea with no competition. i know better than trash private business at this time when we need it more than ever. Government regulation or investment is not the answer. Obama did not invent the iPod or Facebook or Kleenex or even give it subsidies or grants for that matter.

A corporation is only a small business that people wouldn't stop giving money to.

Steve, did you watch the Ed Show last night? Governor Quinn was the interview. He brought up some Illinois facts that Walker and his benefactors have forgotten to mention, such as consensus-building over difficult decisions, partnerships, and most importantly, job growth where we are stagnant. They are also building a rail project to St. Louis, which is creating good interim jobs. And their job growth numbers are better than Wisconsin's, too.

Scott Walker is showing them "how it's done" if Gov. Quinn wants to turn Illinois into an ALEC state. Like Minnesota, Illinois doesn't seem terribly eager to embrace an ideological agenda that 13 major corporations have also walked away from.

NO Bren, I didn't watch the Ed show. I was busy being a capitalist earning evil profits that I can pay to public workers, supporting the Alec agenda of freedom, reduced government spending and success. I get enough liberal propaganda here in the day time.

Bren, NOBODY watches the Mr Ed show, I had to google it just to figure out what you were talking about.

Between December, 2011 and March, 2012 the unemployment rate in Illinois went from 9.8 percent to 8.8 percent. Neither number is anything to crow about but normal regression to the mean will necessarily result in more jobs "created" for a short while (since so many of them are of the ephemeral public/private partnership variety.)

In Wisconsin the unemployment rate went from 7.1 percent down to 6.8 percent over the same time frame. Things are so bad in Illinois that even when they get a little better overall employment is still far worse than Wisconsin; they need tens of thousands of jobs just to catch up.

Walker has set the table for future employment gains with a manufacturer's tax credit that makes Wisconsin a good place to create high-wage manufacturing jobs and tax relief for businesses that moves to Wisconsin and pay at least $200,000 in wages to Wisconsin workers.

You really need a tin foil hat that says ALEC on it just in case the black helicopters are nearby.

I love how you cannot express an opinion without a conservative attacking you for it. The gov has regularly derided the President for spending too much time campaigning, meanwhile Christie has been out of state or on TV campaigning non-stop for the last 3 months while my taxes go up and up. Like it or not, all three of these men have consistently put corporate interest a head of people. While there are plenty of ideologues on the left, the sheer number of ignorant people on the right who are willing to ruin America just to promote a narrow minded agenda is nothing short of amazing and, quite frankly disgusting to anyone who loves America which clearly the right wingers do not.

Something tells me that savvy Chris Christie wouldn't stump for Walker under his own volition. Obviously the big guns are being pulled out to preserve what's left of the ALEC agenda (although Walmart and Koch Industries are still significant supporters). Iowa Tea/Koch/GOP'rs traveled to NJ to try to convince him to run in the primaries, but he's obviously waiting for 2016.

To his potential discredit, Christie stopped construction on the New Jersey tunnel project, claiming that a new review of costs made it unaffordable. He used the federal taxpayer stimulus money to shore up his state budget instead. Recently it was learned that the earlier cost analysis was correct and he knew it. So there are some people who are a bit "peeved" with Chris Christie right now as the current NJ/NYC commute is currently, virtually, "hell on wheels." We'll see what happens.

Christie has spoken arrogantly and rudely to constituents, used a state helicopter for personal business then groused when public pressure forced him to reimburse the state of New Jersey for use of the helicopter (which he used to fly to his son's ball game, which caused quite a commotion. Christie then left in the middle of the game, causing more commotion, to meet with the afore-mentioned Iowa Teapartiers). Christie's Gingrich-level egotism is his worst enemy in my opinion.

He should also reimburse taxpayer stimulus money or put people back to work on the tunnel project before 2016. Just a suggestion.
