I would have thought this was a prime location for a sporting goods store such as a Dunhams or something in the midrange level. Menomonee Falls does not have this choice today. Big Lots? Hmmmm, better than a Salvation Army store. We need to be mindful of how many low end retailers we have in the Falls.

One thing I love about the Falls is its small businesses, things are changing.

Big Lots is a store full of stuff that no one wanted to buy somewhere else, so they sell it to Big Lots. I do wish something a bit nicer would have come to that space. It will be nice to have JoAnn Fabrics move to a better space.

I think Milwaukee County should run a bus route out to Appleton Avenue. Bet you Tea Partier 1 percenters want a be's would love that!

Why should the taxpayers in Milwaukee county be on the hook for bus service outside of their county?

An empty building is better than a "low end" retailer? Jo Ann Fabric is a "low end" retailer? Have you ever seen their mega store in Brookfield?

I am so disappointed to hear this. We live just a few blocks away and our property value will now decrease!!!! Horrible!

Take a stand back and realize what you people are saying!! When is the last time you've stepped foot in a. Big lots store. Big lots has came a long way Let's give them a chance and support them.

I'm happy to say that I live in the Falls and I'm excited about this Big Lots. The only people who are trash are those who think their crap doesn't stink, like they are above all else. Welcome all you Milwaukee people and happy shopping!

I am super excited that there will be a Big Lots closer to me....I drive from Mequon to West Allis to shop at their Big Lots Store.....Cannot wait for grand opening !! Great Idea....great location !

and as for all you STEREO type people who are against it.........i bet you shop Dollar Tree :) Have some respect for those who cannot afford to shop high end stores couse they just dont have it like you!!!! it totally discusts me that there are people out there that behave like that. My husband and i are middle class and live in an upscale Mequon sub devision and we will shop where we can save more being that we have 9 children from ages 13-26 and 3 grandchildren.

I'll give this place a chance but I'll bet millions and millions of dollars it turns dark. Dark meaning Milwaukee insurgence.

BTW, Our second most coveted property development, the Walmart Neighborhood Market experienced an explosion of said insurgence this weekend. It was only a matter of time. The new Silver Spring Dr. Super Walmart could only handle so much. Very interesting seeing the one in Germantown a virtual ghost town now.
