Christmas gifts were stolen from a storage unit in the basement of an apartment complex on Waukesha Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Department. 

Thieves took a boy's Christmas gifts valued at about $300 in a theft reported on Oct. 22, authorities said.  

"One complaint said that she had been picking up toys for her son throughout the year for Christmas," department spokesman Steve Pederson said. "She was hiding them down there." 

Forceable entry was made to two units at the apartment complex at W232 N5951 Waukesha Avenue. 

Various other items such as electronics and hunting equipment, valued at $300, were also stolen.
