Adam Neylon Sworn Into the State Assembly

Rep. Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) today became the newest member of the 101st Wisconsin State Legislature.  Rep. Neylon took the oath of office Tuesday after winning a special election in the 98th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Sussex, Pewaukee, and portions of Waukesha and Lisbon.

“I am excited to join the Assembly Republican majority and work on legislation to help grow our state’s economy,” said Rep. Neylon. “It is such an honor to serve the people of the 98th Assembly District at the State Capitol.”

At 28 years old, Rep. Neylon is one of the younger GOP representatives in the Assembly. “I hope to usher in a new generation of GOP leaders,” said Rep. Neylon, who served as a capitol staffer under Speaker Pro Tempore Bill Kramer and runs his own commercial window cleaning business. “I have a lot of ideas about how government can operate more efficiently.”

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos welcomed Rep. Neylon to the Assembly floor. “Rep. Neylon is the 60th Republican member of the Assembly, and he will bring a valuable perspective both as a business owner and a recent member of the capitol staff. I am excited about what he will contribute to our chamber.”

After being sworn in Rep. Neylon voted in favor of two bills Tuesday:  AB 82, which creates a new criminal offense for trafficking food stamp program benefits; and AB 20, which updates items connected with the CPA exam for modern educational institutions.
